MCZAK HOME INSPECTIONS: BOOKING INFORMATION

What is Included in a Home Inspection

The general goal of a home inspection is to identify any existing problems with a property that may affect a typical buyer's decision to purchase.

All McZak Inspections include a thorough investigation of a home's major systems. Each inspection is concluded with a personal presentation of major findings, followed up with a detailed, electronic inspection report delivered on the same day of the inspection.

Your inspection and report will include:

  • building site (grade, driveway, sidewalks, landscaping)
  • roof (coverings, chimney, gutters, flashings, soffits, skylights)
  • exterior (siding, windows, doors, decks, railings, faucets, receptacles, etc)
  • garage/carport
  • structural components (foundation, attics and crawlspaces, when possible)
  • insulation (attic ventilation & vapour barriers; kitchen, bathroom & laundry venting)
  • plumbing (hot water tank, water shut off location, piping)
  • electrical (main & sub panels, breakers/wiring, CO/smoke detectors)
  • heating & cooling (furnace, AC, fireplaces)
  • bathrooms, kitchen & laundry facilities
  • home interior (bedroom, hallways, foyers, etc - electrical receptacles, stairs, handrails, ceiling fans, etc)

The Cost of an Inspection

Price should not be the deciding factor when selecting a home inspector. The qualifications and credentials of the inspector, as well as your comfort level with the home inspector, himself, should be what guides you to a confident choice.

Also, keep in mind that the cheapest may not be the best; having a complete, thorough home inspection by a reputable home inspector will likely save you money both on your purchase and in the future.
